Wellington 2012

Serene Lorimer with Elise Chan

Isolated cells of activity come together in an experiment with the passing public, featuring guest writers and dancers. Is it possible to combine the written word and dance? Do they naturally stay separate or can they be combined into a seamless interaction? Is an audience more comfortable watching dance if there is a written annotation of what and why the dancer is moving? Will the audience realise the control they have and use it to their advantage? If no one walks past will the writer still write? Who is it really thats driving this?

Serene Lorimer and Elise Chan are recently graduated contemporary dancers from Unitec, Auckland. They have worked together on collaborative projects often over the last five years. This is their first time delving into performance art.
