The Performance Arcade 2017 partnered with Performing, Writing (Massey University) to look at writing as an active process and as performance itself. Various features and artist works considered relationships between performance and writing, looking at how written and spoken texts emerge from, support, produce and impact upon live art. The 2017 lineup brought some of the most influential performance makers from NZ and around the world including award-winning US director Christopher McElroen (Waiting For Godot in New Orleans), the acclaimed Anatomical Theatre of Mixed Realities (ATOMr) group, and returning favorites of PA2016 The BodyCartography Project.
