A cloudscape hangs in the container, made entirely from 1000 coffee cups, which creak and clink against one another in a domestic evocation of Aotearoa (The Land of the Long White Cloud) and Wellington’s volatile weather.

Margarita Ianev and Mathilde Polmard are recent graduates of Spatial Design at Massey University. Their Cooking Class series of culinary performances have been a vibrant addition to The Performance Arcade programme in 2011 and 2012. They have worked as design assistants on a number of performance projects in Wellington, including Java Dance’s STAB season of Rise (2011) and The StageSpace at Wellington Airport (2011).
