Mea Culpa
Wellington 2013
Lucia Lie and Nikko Hull
An interactive oracle that assesses the public's confessions through a system of shadow puppetry, projection, and sonic art; creating spellbinding imagery and interactive performance. In Mea Culpa ‘an interface’ is a faceless interaction between you (reader, player, responsible member of society) and an undefined (routine, habit, the ever-forming idea?). Ever-thwarted by exterior activity and the choices of others… are we always picking up the pieces?
Nikko Hull and Lucia Lie are Wellington-based designers working within Digital Animation/ Film and Performance/ Spatial/Illustration design respectively. Both are interested in investigating psychoanalysis, human behaviour, and social experimentation via these mediums; creating interactive experiences that examine relationships between those temporarily drawn together in a (public) performance context while testing the interaction between animation and live art.
