Debbie Fish
A thin stream of water continuously running from the ceiling of the shipping container into a large water catchment, with the water level in the catchment remaining constant. A work of quiet contemplation and a simple strong gesture in the space of a container set on its end.
Debbie Fish is a new artist with training in dance, theatre and scenography.
She recently finished a Bachelor of Arts in Theatre at Victoria University of Wellington. She has worked as a freelance performer, stage manager and production manager in Wellington and recently embarked on a 9 week tour of Australia with the production Chet Baker:
Like Someone in Love.
She has seen her designs through to construction on various projects including Seascape with Shark and Dancer in 2011, then this year The Water Station and a Beckett double bill Ohio Impromptu / Rough for Theatre. She recently exhibited publicly for the first time at Matchbox Studios with her series of works Chez Moi.
