In Memory of the Mars Volta

Wellington 2014

Theo Taylor

Dancing for the full duration of the Mars Volta album Amputecture. This performance is a tribute to the experience of adolescence, honoring the specific connection with music that one forms in the years where (for many) it seems to be the primary mode of expression and catharsis. The perspiring body sustains its feverish exhausting dance for 75 minutes every evening in locations near the Arcade.

Theo Taylor is a new artist working as an actor, dancer, musician and filmmaker. As a graduate of the film and theatre program at Victoria University he has worked closely with Binge Culture Collective, who share his desire for a more inclusive and performance-art based mode of story-telling.
His first feature film, Scenes In My Head, screened in August as a part of the New Zealand International Film Festival.
