Victoria Gibbs
This performance piece mimics natural bioluminescence, and is illuminated from UV light. The table invites the audience to connect with the piece, creating waves in the ripple pool using the hand crank, mimicking the wave motion that activates natural bioluminescence in the ocean.
A new artist, Victoria Gibbs has a Bachelor of Deign with Honors in Spatial Design from Massey University. She has exhibited at the Substation in Melbourne, completed commissioned works, interned for Lux Wellington in 2013, and hopes to continue her explorations into natural phenomenons and interactivity through her design work.
