Kelsey Woodford
A naked photographer invites the public to pose for her, producing a series of images that capture discomfort, awkwardness and humour. This work explores the power of the camera and the gaze. By directing the gaze back at the viewer, the roles of viewing are reversed and the voyeur becomes an object on display.
THE CONTAINER SERIES
Kelsey Woodford is a Wellington artist, graduating Massey University with a Bachelor of Fine Arts. Kelsey works in varying media such as printmaking, installation, performance and video. The themes of her work include the gaze, self-portraiture and the nude. Her participatory performance works act to reverse the gaze and challenge the way in which the female nude is typically perceived.
