Mark Harvey
An endurance work somewhere between social sculpture, performance art, and audience participation. With help from spectators, Mark Harvey will attempt to move an empty shipping container through manual labour and dogged persistence. Key to this series of actions he will regularly (and politely) invite spectators and passers-by to give him a hand in these actions. Besides the physical work, conversations between the artist and public will be a crucial part of the work.
An Aotearoa based Pākehā/Māori artist (Matawaka iwi) who works in performance and video. His work often engages with promises of productive idiocy, physical endurance, duration, social psychology, social justice, politics, climate change, and various perspectives in ecology.
