a machine, part three, a habour visualization
Wellington 2021
Nick Zwart
Building off earlier work with artists and collaborators Meg Rollandi and Andrew Simpson, a machine part three: a harbour visualisation uses rudimentary mechanics to utilise the power of the tide.
Nick Zwart is a theatre maker and installation artist based in Wellington, NZ. He is a co-founder of The Stoot, an artist-led
studio space, workshop and gallery. Most recently, Nick was the Programme Director at BATS
Theatre. Obsessed with clunky machines, youtube tutorials and highschool level physics, Nick’s
work aims to celebrate the way things are made and not just the product. He has been
nominated for several awards (Wellington Theatre Awards: Lighting Design; 2015, 2018. Set
Design; 2015. DINZ Best Award: 2017) and was awarded The Dean’s Family Trophy for Humor
and Imagination (age 11).
