When the answer to everything is at our fingertips, how much information is too much information? And who else has access to it? In Big Data, a bespoke app-driven adventure whisks you on a journey around town to find where your data goes – and who is looking after it. Part-treasure hunt, part-mystery; Big Data is a theatrical game filled with challenges and bizarre characters – from sneaky bots right through to the big data boss.
Bring your smartphone and look out for information around the city! Sometimes the smallest piece of info can unlock whole other worlds…

Binge Culture is a Wellington contemporary performance company who empower you to critically engage with the complexity and absurdity of the world. Since 2008, they have created dozens of works that subvert theatrical conventions and toured throughout NZ and internationally, receiving critical acclaim and accolades along the way.

Binge have created live interactive works such as Whales, Werewolf, It’s A Trial! (in collaboration with Barbarian Productions), and CubaDupa spy game This Text Will Self Destruct; video walk Hidden Tracks; and audio-based experiences including a series of Unauthorised Audio Tours, and Ancient Shrines and Half Truths which has been performed over 50 times worldwide.

For Big Data, the collective has brought together Creative Director and Co-Writer Joel Baxendale; A/V Designer and Co-Writer Oliver Devlin; Performers Freya Daly Sadgrove, Karin McCracken, and Sepelini Mua’au; Dramaturg Ralph Upton; Producer Eleanor Strathern; App Developer Ian Shepherd; and Production Manager Hāmi Hawkins.
