However brief or sustained, conscious or otherwise, these relationships collectively give form, focus and function to your life and work.” (Simone Gabriel, Ngāti Raukawa) Ecopoesis Aotearoa: The Yarning Dome offers a place to weave language, activism, and art to re-join our whakapapa in and with the world. Voices (indigenous and non-indigenous, poetic and conversational, soaring and prosaic), thoughts (hopeful and grieving, murky and crystalline), and bodies (dancers and passers-by) interlace here, to help us reimagine flourishing coexistence. We invite you to hear, see, speak, breathe, sit, sip (BYO keep cup for foraged kawakawa tea) and yarn with us.

Experience a carousel of ecopoetic artistry, from Robert Sullivan (Ngā Puhi, Kāi Tahu) and an ensemble of Māori eco-poets; performance artist Judd Morrissey; dancer Janaína Moraes; and poet Lisa Samuels; to writers Simone Gabriel (Ngāti Raukawa), Joan Fleming and Leslie Carol Roberts (Ecopoesis founder). You too can create (eco-performance poetry with playwright Elspeth Tilley, or cyanotypes with Leslie), or yarn in kawakawa kōrerorero sessions (byo keep-cup).
